Calling Berlin Home

After two days of tackling Berlin it was again time to eat a great breakfast of bread and REAL coffee (It had been a month since I had a "proper" cup of coffee) and head out for the day. The day again began with a nice train ride into the heart of the city. When we got into the city we explored what is known as museum island. One thing that Berlin does really, really well is that they situated the majority of their museum's in one central location. Also located amongst the museums is the Berlin Cathedral. After hearing stories over breakfast about how wonderful the views of the city were from the top of the Cathedral we decided to explore for ourselves. When we first walked in we were greeted by a beautiful building which is no doubt rich in history. After taking a few moments in prayer we headed for the stairs where we began our climb to the top.

After a long walk full of narrow, spiral staircases we were finally met with fresh air and excellent views. One could not help but think about just how high up they really were. However, that feeling of anxiety was quickly lost when you looked out in front of you and saw breathtaking views of the entire city.

After taking a considerable amount of time to explore the Cathedral we then headed a bit out of the city to a museum that was a totally different change of pace. Our adventures lead us to the Museum of Natural History! What a great place!! This museum allowed us to relive our childhood as the first exhibit we walked into was the dinosaurs!! What a great way to end our Spring break trip!! I hope to one day get the chance to go back to Germany as it was so much more than I ever imagined! I am so thankful for the opportunity to get the chances to explore a city so rich in history!!
